Luneta has been the house of the most signifiacnt happenings in Philippine history. The most popular is the execution of Jose Rizal which happened on December 30, 1896. Few others are the declaration of Philippine Independence and the political rallies of the 2 past presidents of the country - Ferdinand Marcos and Corazon Aquino.
